Junior Ensign Commander Vislor Turlough
Turlough joined the fifth incarnation of the Doctor as a ~~rather terrible~~ would-be assassin, intent on escaping his own exile to Earth by killing the Doctor. After a few misadventures, however, he realised he could never go through with it, and joined the group proper. First, Nyssa left, then Tegan, and it was just himself and the Doctor adventuring, being chased by werewolves, and generally creating trouble and then setting it right.

He's sneaky, cowardly, and always looking out for himself, but a long time of travelling with the Doctor has softened some of those qualities -- he'll help you, but he won't necessarily like it, and it probably wasn't his first option (the first usually being to ignore it). Occasionally, he'll even risk himself -- particularly where the Doctor or Tegan is concerned.
